Mighty food
Every year I come to believe more and more that we under-think the power of food to nourish, strengthen and heal. And therefore the importance of the quality and care of what we put into our bodies and offer to our people. It isn't about shaming anyone's choices or practices its more about an invitation to give more thought to where our food came from before it landed in our hands, what ingredients are really in it, and what can it offer to my body? Much of this has stemmed for me out of changing my diet because of my Crohn's disease. First, I had to get my gut unsick and then I began to realize I could actually feel well, and then strong based on what I was eating. So we are imperfect and there are a million days we make choices that aren't as thoughtful, but we are relearning cooking and preparation in hopes to greet the blessing of food to truly strengthen, heal and nourish our bodies.
Long intro to say, yesterday, my person generously made a healing soup for me. I felt so cared for by his thoughtfulness and time to offer me this Save Your Life Garlic Soup and now I absolutely must recommend it. I came down with some sickness this weekend and this soup made my gut and body so happy. It's easy and wonderful, so if you can read the above, give it a whirl on your next sick day!
